Due The Thanksgiving Holiday the Village of Newberry will be picking up trash on the East Side of the Village on Wednesday, November 26th.
The Newberry Water & Light Wishes to inform their customers that they will be flushing the entire system starting Monday, December 1st. They will start in the South East Quadrant and move around the system. Customers at times during the flush may notice discolored water, lower pressure or a complete outage for short periods of time.
The Newberry Merry Christmas will be held Friday, December 5th
at the Rahilly motors Car Lot. there will be Caroling will start at
5:00pm, the lighting of the official Christmas Tree, Hot Chocolate,
cookies, and professional photos will be taken with Santa at the
Luce County Community Recreation & Resource Center. The Newberry Elks Lodge #1705 announces the 38th annual Elks Hoop Shoot Competition will be held on Saturday, December 6th in the J.L. DeCook Gymnasium at 10:00am with registration starting at 9:30am.Contestants can be from ages 8 to 13 and must be accompanied by an adult and have proof of age to determine which age group they will compete in. Let it nieve (nee-eh-vee)? Let it sneachd (sneek-t)? Let it goon (goan)? What does this all mean? It means that the downtown windows are painted and waiting for you to see them! Travel around the world and learn a few ways to say the word 'snow' while browsing downtown. Then, pick up an entry form, complete it, and enter the "LET IT SNOW" contest to win a prize bag full of items donated by the businesses themselves! Contest ends Monday December 15th- so hurry!!! FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 28th The Newberry Eagles Club will hold its Fish Fry from 4:30 till 8PM at the Club, on M-28, Newberry. Enjoy all-you-can-eat fish, or choose from the Friday menu.
The Newberry Elks club will have Shrimp Scampi & Jumbo Shrimp for their Friday night special as well as Regular Menu items. Curtis A Glow starts at 6:00pm with the Holiday Tree Lighting and Santa's Parade, from Chamber Office to The Curtis Park. SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 29th Curtis A Glow continues with a Christmas Bazaar at the Erickson Center from 10:00am to 4:00pm. The Bazaar will include Santa Clause, a Bake Sale, and a Gift Basket Raffle. The Holiday Gala, Deck the Walls will be held at Chamberlin's Ole Forest Inn from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. There will be a Silent Auction, Hors d'oeuvres & Entertainment. $15 per person donation, all proceeds benefit CCAC
MONDAY, DECEMBER 1st It’s Spaghetti night at The Gould City Eagles Club. Spaghetti will be served from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Everyone is welcome. TUESDAY, DECEMBER 2nd The Newberry Area Goodfellows will meet in the Youth Center at 5:00pm. Anyone who wishes to help the Goodfellows this holiday season is welcome to attend. It’s Taco Tuesday at the Gould city Eagles club. The public is welcome and food will be served from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 3rd
McMillan Lodge # 400 of Free and Accepted Masons will meet at the Masonic Temple in Downtown Newberry at 7:30 p.m. THURSDAY, DECEMBER 4th The Luce-Mackinac Genealogical Society will meet in the Engadine High School Library at 1:30pm. The Cancer Support Group in Newberry is meeting again. Meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of Each month from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. The meetings are held at the Webber & Dever Offices in the Basement of the Pathways building in Newberry.
